EVENTS
We participate in a number of events. Currently we meet every month on the first Saturday at The Museum of Southern History at 4304 Herschel St. in Jacksonville, FL as CPL Dyer is a volunteer curator there from 10-2 (sometimes later as the crowd and our meetings can sometimes get interesting and conversations go on and on). We also participate currently as Confederate Soldiers in the Battle of Olustee reenactment since our unit fought there and we help man the Museum of Southern History / Sons of Confederate Veterans Display. We also will be participating in events involving our unit only at bushcrafting events throughout the year in our Confederate impression. We notify our members of events via our facebook group that we will make you a member of once you join the group.
Calendar of Events 2015
Feb. 14-15 Battle of Olustee Reenactment - CS Impression
At this event we will be portraying our ancestral unit McBride's Company of Florida Scouts who served as sharpshooters at this battle and helped to decimate the Yankee officer corps involved in this engagement. We will be assisting the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Museum of Southern History with their displays of a diorama of the battle and we will be conducting an active recruiting booth to bring new members into the unit.
March TBD - Bushcraft weekend - CS Impression.
At this event we will be conducting a bushcraft campout at either Osceola or Ocala National Forest to practice the survival skills of our ancestral unit. We will have a weekend focused on wild edibles, primitive fire starting, shelter building, antique firearms training and more.
